FAQ
Questions importers ask
Is the calculator a binding quote? +
No. It is an indicative estimate based on catalogue reference prices, including marked modelled values. It does not calculate laboratory resource costs. A laboratory must confirm the test programme, samples, price and turnaround.
Why don’t you name a specific laboratory? +
The calculator combines reference prices from different sources. It is not the price list of one laboratory. The laboratory and its accreditation scope for the requested methods must be confirmed before ordering.
What do the prices include — and exclude? +
The estimate uses the selected catalogue items, net of VAT. Shipping, customs and additional work are excluded. A 50% rush surcharge and a €97 order fee can be enabled as illustrative assumptions; actual fees require a laboratory offer.
How do sample and variant counts affect the estimate? +
Each selected rate is multiplied by the sample count. Items marked /v are also multiplied by the variant count. This is a budgeting assumption, not a normative sampling plan; grouping and repeat testing must be assessed for the actual product.
How current are these prices? +
LCAS methodology v2.0 was published on 21 October 2026. This publication does not update the catalogue prices. Check the cited price source and its date, then obtain a current offer for the agreed scope.
Is LCAS free to use? +
Yes. The methodology, rate card and calculator are publicly available free of charge. Multicert develops and maintains LCAS.
